About Shepherd's Heart Fellowship
Shepherd's Heart, located in Uptown Pittsburgh, is a compassionate ministry of the Anglican Diocese of Pittsburgh, dedicated to embodying the love of Jesus by serving the poor, addicted, homeless, and marginalized individuals within the city. This unique organization operates both as a church and a faith-based nonprofit, extending help, hope, and the Gospel to those most in need, including veterans. Our two main programs are:
  1. Shepherd's Heart Veteran's Home ("House of Hope"): This transitional housing program, in collaboration with the Veterans Administration's Pittsburgh Healthcare System, provides a supportive and structured environment for homeless veterans. The program aims to restore honor and dignity to those who have served our country by offering long-term sheltered transitional bedrooms, acute care bedrooms, case management, and rehabilitation services to veterans who may be struggling with PTSD, substance use issues, mental illness, and disabilities.
  2. The Shepherd's Place - Drop-In Center: This welcoming refuge is open every weekday morning, offering a safe space for individuals experiencing poverty and homelessness to enjoy a warm breakfast and attend to their laundry needs. A short Morning Prayer service is also held, providing a moment of reflection and spiritual nourishment. While temporarily closed (reopening in July), the Drop-In Center serves as a vital point of contact, connecting those in need with essential resources and compassionate support.
